Day 53 / 365 || Week 9

Brie'Ana Breeze Photography & Media - Purple Wine Bar-8446-2.jpg

I took myself out on a date night. It feels like the recent dates I have been going on have been weird. Online dating is strange. It has been less and less appealing to find someone to spend your time with when you feel like you have to market yourself out for love. I felt like it was time to just go out by myself and find the things I like to do with my own company. I like white wine, I like Shane Koyczan and I like going on excursions around the city on nice days.

Day 54 / 365 || Week 9

Today was sort of symbolic day for me. I re-arranged stuff in my life that had a lot of meaning to me at one point, but currently has been less significant in my life.

I have had my van for nearly 4 years now and in that time the only thing I really haven’t changed about it was my bed set up. I had storage underneath to place all my things and stuff. The fact that I put a bed inside my then new home the moment I left town was grand. It my first adventure as a #Vanlifer in 2015 that gave me such a feeling of freedom that I hadn’t felt before.

In the last year I haven’t really had a need to sleep inside of it. I have mostly been on international trips where I have left Stan behind. When I did drive to places I needed to be I had friends, airbnbs, campsites and hammocks to slumber in, and now I have an actual place inside of a house that I am living at now. I thought it was time to rearrange some things because I still have a strong connection with my van, and I didn’t want to let all the magic go.

It was time to get the bed out and give myself more space. More space to work in, (hello mobile office!), actual seats where I can take more than one person on adventures, more space to fit work supplies for events, just more space and less things! I feel a weight is lifted. That is now the freedom that I feel, where I don’t feel like I HAVE to live the Vanlife lifestyle, where I don’t feel like I am stuck, but choose to be in and out of it when I want.

To more space! To turning chapters.

Day 55 / 365 || Week 9

Scott Clay and I first met through our social medias, where we both appreciated our creative arts, travels, and common Seattle musician friends that are in many local bands. We decided that when I was going to be back from Bali we would find time to jam out, talk travel. I actually have a memory of his music before even meeting him. I browsed through his Spotify and my ears heard heaven. As I sat down on my motorbike in Bali, I put my helmet on and placed ONE headphone in with the song “More” playing on repeat. (yeah yeah, not safe, but still was still sure fun!) That song played a part as a theme song on my trip, in times while I was cruising down on the winding roads, on the cliff sides and beaches of Uluwatu and up North in the jungles, near waterfalls, on a fast boat to the Gilis and so on.

Today was the randomly picked day on a whim and we met at Cal Anderson park, jammed out while the sun went down. It was just what I needed. I felt a pulse of that musical magic back rushing through my fingers, mind, and vocal chords. We sang harmony’s, and changed some lyrics around in one of his new songs, and he was a really good teacher when it came showing me the rope to his song, I’ve said it many times before and I’ll say it again - “Jams that will lead you to the land that’s promised” - those lyrics are some of the most accurate to describe when these moments happen. The night ended when we pretty much got kicked out of the park by midnight by the cops doing their rounds, then it was time to say goodnight.

Now we just have to practice for that next Open Mic we plan on performing together at.

Check out his music here. You’re ears will thank you!

I am enjoying the space. I am enjoying the ride. I am feeling present again. I am feeling alive. I am writing more. I am processing. I am learning. I am doing me and it living up to my curiosities.

Day 58 / 365 || Week 9

These are some of my new headshots for a new updated resume and a new outlook on income. I’m a lady boss and it’s a good reminder I have the skill sets and talent to keep doing it me, but at a higher level. I got this.

Day 59 / 365 || Week 9

Brie'Ana Breeze Photography & Media - Charlie-8650.jpg

This is Charlie, who is new bestie at work. He is thoughtful, sweet, yet logical and yet a down to earth person who digs creativity just as much as I do. He has been teaching me more about drag dress up, make up, and style then any other person I have met. He has a beautiful eye for photography and film, and has a passion for drawing. I would be forgetting a lot about Charlies love for one thing though, cats. I think he loves cats more than humans. I am so glad I get to spend some time with someone at work that I actually get to learn and grow from. Thanks for being a charm Charlie!
