I applaud anyone who decides to get in front of a camera and have a lens pointed at them. It can be terrifying in so many circumstances. I myself find it awkward when I get in front of a camera, especially in front of someone else’s camera. While living through the era of selfies, it’s easy to take a good picture, but it still lacks the fundamental reason to do a photoshoot. There are times where being in a photoshoot brings so much more then the photo itself. It brings out the not just the smile, but the vulnerability. Sometimes the silly and the sassy too. Each of these portrait sessions I did with all these ladies gave me a sense of why I do what I do. Most of us want to feel good, look good and be good, and I have definitely captured all of this. A lot of the time they end up loving the moment I ended up getting in between.
Seattle, Washington || Alki Beach
The weather is getting to that point now where people are walking around outdoors, talking to one another again, and doing it so without that Seattle freeze attitude. It feels so nice! After a long winter, it's about that time to get out those short-sleeved shirts and sundresses. It's time to feel the sun touch your skin and show off those tattoos.
Breathe in the fresh PNW air and just BE.
~ Big props to Jesse being the best male model that he is! We pulled this off on such short notice and it was worth it ~
