From the best Western Canada music festival, Shambhala shows character, from a place where 11,000 people gather to get weird. Shambhala lays on a property in the small town of Salmo, B.C. close to the border to the States. This land is held on a farm which holds the 6 stage structures up all year round. This festival is built off co-creating. It's been a huge family reunion each year for many people. How could it not after being around for 21 years.
This is an alcohol-free event. No vendors are allowed to sell alcohol, nor are people allowed to bring it in. Yes, vehicle searches happen before you can find your camping spot.
It was the first festival that had my attention right away. I soon realized I wanted to step foot into the festival photography realm. I would be able to meet new friends and explore a world of creative fun, with many people who were dressed to impress.
