My bank account is in the double digits, which is really bad timing considering I'm about to travel half way across the country. Somehow, someway, I picked up yet another odd job tonight.
This time? Driving a birthday boy and his pals to different bars, while I chill in the escalade they provided. After the bars closed, they wanted poker.
I was too be convinced to play and would be bought in for $300. This included 2 rules. 1 - I give half of my winnings back, and 2. To not feel bad if I lose it all. If i did, that was that. I didn't owe a penny. Shoot, I'm so broke I pick penny's off of the ground.
Well, I did almost lose it all. When I decided that it was time for me to go back to the car to take a well needed nap at 5 am. So I put all my chips in, cards played as double 10's. No other 10's on the table.
When I was last of 4 players to turn over my cards, my mind began to spin and my body felt the adrenaline from the slight thought i was having, "Did I just win? . I WON the pot. Talk about feelings, because mine went sky rocketing. These double 10's were a life saver for my mental health. I no longer will feel that kind of stress on the road.
I am still not a gambling women, but I have a bad ass story to tell now because of it. And maybe 10 is my new favorite number.
